Thank you to Alex for sharing her tattoo.

A mix between a stag and Hercules beetle, a good friend in Edinburgh inked it when they first started qualifying for their tattoo apprenticeship. At a time, Alex was going through a not so great period of her life and wasn’t feeling especially strong. There was upheaval, a lot going on emotionally and everything took a toll on her mental health.

She'd ended a 10 year relationship and moved to a completely new City, Manchester to London, away from all her family. It was a major point in her life so she wasn’t sure what was going to happen with it all.

She decided to press reset on everything and start afresh, after having a very established role at a company (in Manchester) and take on a completely new role (in London). The mark of a new Chapter.

The symbolism of the stag and Hercules Beetle is they are small, strong and can withstand pressure. Alex has always been into insects and quite fascinated by them so decided to get a symbol of strength on her arm to keep her going when she was having a tough time.

To new chapters, making a change, resetting and strength.
